Edmonton Youth Softball Association
  1) Batting Helmets (Page 17)
Face-cage guards are mandatory on batting helmets for Mites and Squirts in 2004, Pee Wees and Bantams in 2005, and Midgets in 2006.

  2) Mercy Rules (Page 24)
The 2006 EYSA book has a printing error. The mercy rule for Pee Wees, Bantams and Midgets is still 10 runs after five complete innings.


Alberta Amateur Softball Association
  1) Coaches and Managers (Page 22)
The total number of signed coaches and managers on a provincial roster shall not exceed four (4).

  2) Mercy Rules (Page 29)
The mercy rules for minor categories were changed to the following:

Category After 2 1/2 Innings After 4 1/2 Innings
Mites 20 15
Squirts 20 15
Pee Wee C/D 20 15
Pee Wee B 20 10
Bantam C/D 20 10
Bantam B Boys 20 10

All other minor categories follow the CASA mercy rules of 15 runs after 2 1/2 innings, and 7 runs after 4 1/2 innings.


  3) Replacement Runner (Page 30)
The Courtesy Runner has been replaced with the Replacement Runner as outlined in CASA FP Rule 4-11.

  1) ASA Bat Standards
All bats must conform to ASA bat standards. A list of banned bats can be found at the ASA Website.
