Level III to Level IV
To achieve a certification for Level IV, the following steps need to be taken.

To move on to Level IV, one must be a certified Level III umpire for a minimum of two years and have received a successful evaluation from a provincial/territorial championship with a recommendation to progress to Level IV.

|
Attend a national Level IV clinic and obtain a mark of 85% or higher on the Level IV certification exam.

Canadian Championship Evaluation:

|
|
Receive a successful Level IV evaluation at either a Midget FP, Junior Women's FP, Masters' 40+ SP, Senior Women's SP or Co-Ed SP Canadian Championship.
|
|
|
A Level IV designation allows one to officiate provincial/territorial minor and adult softball as well as Canadian Championships.
To maintain this designation, an umpire must attend a provincial/territorial clinic annually and obtain 85% or higher on the national Level IV certification exam each year. Further, the umpire must be active in regional and/or provincial/territorial officiating programs.
